I am Francisco Couto, also known as dead_laranja, an illustrator and visual artist based in Lisbon. For the last four years I have focused my practice on the tufting technique, finding in tapestry a beautiful and meditative process that feels like a genuine counterpoint to the digital world. I started sharing this technique with workshop participants in Barcelona in 2021 and have been doing so ever since, because watching someone discover this process for the first time never gets old.<\/p>\n
