Beginner surf lesson in Carcavelos for anyone who wants to learn to surf in one of the most accessible and well-known surf beaches near Lisbon. Led by Pedro Marques, a lifelong ocean enthusiast born and raised at Praia das Ma\u00e7as on the Sintra coast, these two-hour group lessons run daily with one certified instructor per group of six students, giving you genuine individual attention throughout. All equipment is included, properly sanitised before every session, and the lesson location may be adjusted to another beach depending on sea conditions on the day.<\/p>\n
During summer the lessons run at least twice daily at flexible times adapted to the surf forecast and tidal conditions. Outside summer they run once daily on weekdays and weekends, always adjusted to the conditions and the level of the group. The session covers everything a beginner needs to get started: safety and warm-up, sand practice to build the muscle memory for the take-off, and time in the water with ongoing coaching, feedback and encouragement throughout. Pedro’s approach is fun, enthusiastic and rooted in a genuine passion for sharing the ocean with people who have never experienced it from a surfboard before.<\/p>\n

I am Pedro Marques, born and raised at Praia das Ma\u00e7as on the beautiful Sintra coast, where the mountains meet the sea. I have had a strong connection with the ocean since childhood, through surfing and bodyboarding, and the main goal of my surf school is to transmit that passion in a fun and enthusiastic way. The ocean has given me so much and I want to share that with every student who steps into the water with me.<\/p>\n
