Linocut on handmade paper workshop in Porto at doBARRO with Marisa Grilo, a multidisciplinary artist whose practice moves between ceramics, printmaking and expressive illustration, co-founder of doBARRO and member of collective Squid Ink Works, a three-hour hands-on printmaking session at 50 euros where you design and carve your own linoleum block, ink it and print onto a range of papers including handmade papers, discovering how each texture changes the final result. All materials included. No prior experience needed, just a willingness to try.<\/p>\n
The session takes you through the full printmaking process from designing your composition through to carving, inking and pulling your prints, exploring contrast, composition and repetition and discovering how small decisions in the drawing translate directly into the final image. A brief introduction to papermaking is also included, deepening your understanding of the materials and their possibilities. Direct, physical and often surprising, this is a genuinely classic printmaking experience with strong graphic character.<\/p>\n
