Originally trained as a documentary photographer, she is drawn to the quiet beauty of everyday life, capturing honest moments, human connection, and emotional narratives through the timeless medium of analogue film.\r\n\r\nNow based in Lisbon, L\u00e9a's creative practice is shaped by the contrast between her South African upbringing and her European heritage. These influences come together in her distinctive visual language\u2014one that values authenticity, curiosity, and the subtle details that often go unnoticed.\r\n\r\nBeyond photography, L\u00e9a is passionate about slowing down the creative process and encouraging others to experience the tactile nature of analogue photography. Through her workshops, she introduces participants to film cameras, composition, and mindful image-making, creating an experience that is as much about observation and connection as it is about taking photographs.\r\n\r\nWhether wandering Lisbon's historic streets or developing film by hand, L\u00e9a believes that the most meaningful images come from being fully present. Her workshops invite people to see the city through a different lens, embracing imperfection, curiosity, and the art of telling stories one frame at a time.","link":"https:\/\/handson.pt\/pt\/teacher\/leathijs96gmail-com\/","slug":"leathijs96gmail-com","avatar_urls":{"24":"https:\/\/handson.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/b519e1bd-0bf5-41aa-a0e0-f38d5780422b-150x150.jpg","48":"https:\/\/handson.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/b519e1bd-0bf5-41aa-a0e0-f38d5780422b-150x150.jpg","96":"https:\/\/handson.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/b519e1bd-0bf5-41aa-a0e0-f38d5780422b-150x150.jpg"},"meta":[],"user_switching_url":null,"elementor_introduction":"","_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/handson.pt\/pt\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/470","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/handson.pt\/pt\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users"}]}}
