Step into the world of creativity with the Animal Sculpture Workshop, a hands-on artistic experience where you will bring your favorite animal to life in clay. This workshop invites you to slow down, connect with your imagination, and discover the joy of sculpting and painting a small figurine inspired by the animal of your choice.

What You Will Experience

From the very beginning, you will be guided through the creative process of designing your own piece. Together, we will brainstorm ideas, explore possible shapes and proportions, and sketch simple outlines to serve as inspiration.

As the workshop progresses, you will explore fundamental hand-building methods, such as forming basic structures, adding detail to features like fur, feathers, or scales, and bringing out the unique character of your chosen animal. Once your sculpture has taken shape, you will move on to painting and decorating it. This stage adds personality, texture, and color, turning your clay figure into a unique, expressive piece of art.

Who Can Join

The Animal Sculpture Workshop is designed for anyone who loves animals, creativity, or simply wants to try something new. No previous experience is required, as you will be guided carefully through each stage of the process. The workshop is suitable for both beginners and those with some creative background who wish to refine their skills.

It is also an excellent activity for children from 9 years old and up, making it a perfect way for young participants to explore their imagination and learn a new craft. With a maximum of just two participants per session, the workshop ensures plenty of personal attention, a calm atmosphere, and an intimate creative experience.

FAQ

Will the sculpture be ready to take after the workshop?

No. To prepare sculpture for firing I need to dry it first and then it will be fired twice, once in low temperature, so that your painting job can be sealed, and then I apply glaze to eyes and other "shiny" parts, and fire it again in high temperature. Then sculpture will be ready for a pick up, or I can bring it to Cais do Sodre :)
