What You Will Learn
The session begins with a short introduction to the history and techniques of soil painting. You will discover how different types of soil and natural pigments influence color, texture, and composition. After this theoretical part, you will practice sketching on a 19 by 24 cm canvas and then create your own artwork using soil-based paint.

No previous experience in painting is required. Our facilitators will guide you step by step through the process. 24/10/2025 at 17:13Excellent workshop where you get to paint with different types of Portuguese soil, which gives your artwork a beautiful textured look with natural colours. The workshop was at an art market, which was a fun environment to be creative.
While Alex was running their stall, Marta was teaching us the mixing and painting techniques, they’re both great people and it was fun and nice to hang out with them!
