I am Àta Àdetokunbo. Born in Rio de Janeiro, I was introduced to the rich traditions of Capoeira Angola from an early age and have absorbed and carried them with me ever since.
As the founder of the Capoeira group Memórias de Angola, which has its roots in Rio and is now based in Lisbon, I have dedicated myself to preserving and sharing the teachings of Capoeira Angola.
I am passionate about Capoeira and the transmission of this art in all its forms — music, movement, and philosophy.
Capoeira is a lifestyle, one that I have happily chosen to follow and proudly pass on so it can continue to grow and inspire others.
Through my active involvement in building capoeira Rodas and cultural movements, I strive to support, strengthen, and empower the capoeira community.
