Ceramic workshop in Lisbon where you get your hands into clay and build your own piece from scratch using the most versatile hand-building technique, guided step by step by Patricia from Ramos Cerâmica. Whether you make a cup, a bowl or your favourite style of mug, the piece you leave with will be entirely yours, decorated, glazed and fired to a professional finish. No prior experience with ceramics needed and maximum five students per class to ensure you get genuine individual attention throughout.
We work through the full process together from the very first touch of clay. Patricia guides you through the hand-building technique, helping you shape, refine and develop your piece at your own pace before moving into the decoration and painting stage where you choose colours, apply decorative materials and finish with a glossy transparent glaze. The atmosphere is deliberately calm and unhurried, the kind of quiet creative focus that Patricia has built Ramos Cerâmica around since the beginning. Your finished pieces will be fired at high temperature and ready for collection approximately 25 working days after the workshop. All participants are contacted when their pieces are ready.

I am Patricia Gonçalves, ceramist and founder of Ramos Cerâmica. I came to ceramics after years of searching for work that combined creativity with the solitude and silence I deeply appreciate, moving through nutrition and styling before finding my place at the wheel and the workbench. I draw inspiration from natural elements, the irregularities of stones, the colours of dried flowers, hidden corners and light. What I care most about is creating objects that feel truly special, and that is the same feeling I want every participant to take home from this workshop.
Sessions run with a maximum of 5 students for personalised attention. Private sessions for up to 12 participants can be arranged on request. No prior ceramics experience needed.
