Some afternoons are worth setting aside entirely. My watercolor Easter workshop in Porto is a relaxed and genuinely enjoyable session built around one subject: painting expressive, charming bunnies in watercolor, with enough technique to make the process feel purposeful and enough freedom to make the result feel personal. Open to all levels from age 6 upwards, whether you have never picked up a brush or paint regularly and want a creative afternoon in good company.

We work through the painting from the ground up, starting with the watercolor fundamentals that make everything else possible: wet-on-wet technique, layering, transparency and color blending. From there we move into the specific skills that bring a bunny to life on paper, fur texture, expressive details and soft transitions, building the composition progressively from light washes to final detail. The studio atmosphere is calm and welcoming throughout, with tea and biscuits to keep things easy. Small group format means there is space for individual attention and genuine creative exploration rather than just following instructions.

I am Joana Padilha, a visual artist and art educator based in Portugal and founder of Manatelier. I lead regular workshops in watercolor, drawing and mixed media, always with a focus on creative exploration and artistic expression over technical perfection. My sessions are designed to be both calming and inspiring, a space to slow down, connect with creativity and remember that making something by hand is one of the most satisfying things you can do with an afternoon.

Open to all levels from age 6 upwards. Children, teenagers and adults are all welcome. The session runs in English with Portuguese available if needed. Spots are limited so booking in advance is recommended.
