Electric foil experience in Alentejo for anyone who wants more than a taster and is ready to spend two full hours flying above the water. The eFoil is an innovative board equipped with a hydrofoil and an electric motor that lifts you silently above the surface as you gain speed, no waves needed, no wind required, just a unique and completely addictive sensation of freedom and effortless flight above the Mira River and the Alentejo coast. Two hours gives you the time to move well beyond the basics and genuinely develop your feel for the board.
The SW SUP team introduces you to the eFoil progressively from the first minute, covering board control, speed management and balance before you begin to lift above the water. With two hours at your disposal you have the space to build real confidence, experiment with different speeds and directions and experience what it actually feels like to ride an eFoil rather than just try one. Set against the stunning natural surroundings of the River Mira and the Alentejo coastline, the combination of technology, nature and the particular silence of flying above the water makes this one of the most genuinely different experiences available in the region. All equipment is provided, full instructor support is included throughout and insurance covers the full session.

I am António Pereira, founder of SW SUP and a water sports instructor born and raised in Vila Nova de Milfontes. Since 2017 I have been dedicated to sharing authentic and memorable experiences on the water with people of all levels, alongside a passionate and experienced team. The two-hour eFoil session is our most immersive water sports experience and the one that people talk about the most afterwards.
Solo participants booking a single session incur a supplement of 12 euros. Special prices available for groups. Board and wetsuit rental rates also available on request. Activity is subject to tidal and weather conditions and may be cancelled or adjusted at short notice.

What is an electric foil (eFoil)?

Is it difficult to learn & do I need experience?
Most beginners can start riding during their first session. The learning process is progressive, starting on your knees before standing up and controlling the board. No experience is needed. The session is beginner-friendly, and your instructor will guide you step by step until you feel comfortable riding the board.

All necessary equipment is provided, including the board, paddle, life jacket, and full support from a certified instructor, as well as insurance coverage.

Can children join the lesson?
Electric Foil is generally recommended for teenagers and adults rather than young children. We set a minimum age between 12 and 16 years old, depending on the child’s size, confidence in the water, and ability to follow instructions. Younger participants may be allowed in some cases, but only under close supervision and with instructor approval. Because it’s a motorized board that requires balance and control, this experience is best suited for older kids or teens who are comfortable in the water.

My name is António, and the ocean has always been part of who I am.
I grew up in Vila Nova de Milfontes, surrounded by nature and deeply connected to the water from a young age. I started with canoeing and surfing as a kid, and that’s where my passion for the ocean truly began.
In 2016, I discovered Stand Up Paddle — and everything changed. The freedom, the balance, and the connection with nature made me realize this was what I wanted to do every day. That’s how SW SUP was born.
Since 2017, I’ve been dedicated to sharing this experience with others — whether it’s your very first time on a board or you’re looking to improve your skills. My goal has always been to create a safe, fun, and authentic environment where people can learn, grow, and enjoy the ocean.
But for me, it’s about more than just the sport.
It’s about the feeling of being out on the water, the calm of the river, the energy of the sea, and those small moments — like watching someone stand up for the first time or sharing a sunset session — that stay with you long after.
Today, I work with a passionate and experienced team, and together we make sure every experience is personal, safe, and unforgettable.
