The academy is designed for children and teenagers aged 5 to 18. Sailing activities are adapted to each participant’s age, skills and experience level. Participants must know how to swim.
Yes! You can choose the option that best suits your schedule. Half-day sessions are ideal for young sailors who want to discover sailing or develop their skills over a shorter period, while full-day sessions offer more time on the water and a more immersive learning experience. Availability depends on the selected level and schedule.
No previous experience is necessary for beginners. Experienced instructors guide participants through the basics of sailing. Those with previous experience can join a more advanced level, subject to the academy’s requirements.
The academy includes practical sailing instruction, the use of sailing boats and training equipment, and life jackets provided by BBDouro. Lessons are adapted to the participants’ level and focus on developing sailing skills, confidence and teamwork.
Participants should wear comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor activities and bring any personal essentials they may need. For full-day sessions, they should bring their own lunch. A dining area with facilities to heat meals is available. Transport to and from Douro Marina is not included.
