Crown making workshop and photoshoot in Lisbon at Ninho Studio with Sylvia Borges, a filmmaker, photographer and storyteller whose work has always centred on one question: how do we see ourselves and how do we see each other. At 70 euros, this is a one-of-a-kind creative experience where you design and craft your own crown using a wide range of materials, textures and forms, get individually photographed by Sylvia in a curated studio setting, and receive five professionally edited high-quality portraits by email. The experience closes with a sundowner drink in the urban nest on the 14th floor overlooking the water, the city and the harbour of Lisbon.

The crown is not about perfection or craftsmanship. It is a symbolic object, a way of giving shape to personal experiences, strengths, contradictions, dreams and memories, created in a light-filled elevated space that already feels like somewhere worth pausing in. After the making phase, which includes space for reflection and conversation throughout, Sylvia photographs each participant individually in a curated setting designed to reveal not a role, profession or social identity but a person with a unique and particular story. The result is five portraits of you, seen differently, carrying something of what emerged during the making process.

I am Sylvia Borges, a filmmaker, photographer and storyteller based in Lisbon. For most of my professional life I have been interested in how we see ourselves and how we see each other, and this workshop grew out of that question. Rather than creating work about people, I wanted to create an experience with people, a space where creativity becomes a tool for reflection, play and self-discovery. My role is not to teach artistic skills. It is to create the conditions for curiosity, expression and meaningful encounters with yourself and with others.
