This guided massage workshop teaches a practical 30-minute routine inspired by Shiatsu and Ayurvedic Yoga Massage, two Eastern traditions focused on energy meridians, vital points, and mindful pressure application.

Held at One Leaf in Lisbon, this 90-minute hands-on session provides step-by-step guidance in a massage sequence that can be easily practiced at home with only a floor mat. Perfect for couples, partners, and friends who want to explore therapeutic touch, relaxation, and wellness bonding in a calm and supportive space.

Throughout the session, you will explore the fundamentals of Japanese Shiatsu pressure-point therapy and Ayurvedic bodywork, focusing on:

What should I wear for the workshop?

The ideal outfit for the workshop is comfortable clothing (imagine loose-fitting leggings or sweat pants, and a cotton t-shirt).

Can I participate alone?

This workshop is intended for people to join in pairs (think family, friend, partner). if you can't join with someone please reach out and we'll find a solution for you :)

Do I have to have prior massage experience for this?

You don't - I'll be teaching you easy to follow and easy to apply techniques that you'll immediately feel comfortable applying.

How does a session work?

Depending on the number of participants, we begin with a brief introduction on the workshop itself and the importance of touch, creating a container for healthy communication and boundary-setting. We then check-in with ourselves, noticing how we're feeling and using breath and a short meditation to drop into the experience. I then guide you through the massage routine step-by-step and we finish with a little space for sharing about the experience.

Do we both get to give and receive the massage?

Yes, you'll both be learning the routine and experiencing it. Nothing like receiving a massage to know what it feels like and how to better give one.

    Sara is a Shiatsu and Ayurveda Yoga Massage therapist with three years' experience in private practice as well as festival contexts. She's passionate about the connection between body-mind-emotion and has been working with somatic work since starting to do bodywork.
    Polyglot, multicultural and highly sensitive, she reads the room with empaty and immediately creates community during her workshops.
