Imaginary creatures workshop in Porto for anyone who has ever wanted to bring something entirely invented to life, using both illustration and clay in a single two-hour session. Led by the creative mind behind Ilustração Sol, this is a free and welcoming space to experiment, create and genuinely surprise yourself, combining distortion techniques and geometric shape integration in illustration with hands-on clay modelling to give your creature a physical form. No prior experience with drawing or clay needed, just curiosity and a willingness to see what your imagination produces when given the right tools.
The session works through two connected creative stages. You begin with illustration, learning how to develop and draw your imaginary creature using distortion techniques and by integrating it within geometric shapes, giving it a visual identity and personality before it takes on any physical dimension. From there you move into clay, modelling your creature by hand and discovering how the three-dimensional form adds something to the character that the drawing alone cannot. The two media inform each other throughout, and the result is something genuinely your own in both two and three dimensions.

I am the creative mind behind Ilustração Sol, a space where art, imagination and self-expression meet. Through illustration I explore emotions, symbols and stories that live between the visible and the invisible, working across drawing, textures and experimental techniques that often blend illustration with storytelling and creative writing. Beyond creating, I share my process through workshops and artistic experiences, encouraging others to explore their creativity, develop their own visual language and transform ideas into meaningful creations. Ilustração Sol is more than a project. It is a journey of discovery, transformation and artistic freedom.
