Lucy picked up her taste for Kimchi whilst living in South Korea in 2016. With a Masters in chemistry, Lucy brought her fascination of catalysis (the art of speeding up reactions) together with her passion for food, and started her building her bacteria family and home fermentation lab in Lisbon in 2023. Lucy leverages a decade of delivering transformations for diverse communities around the world: from Silicon Valley executives, to refugees of 30+ nationalities, to African governments. She is now reconnecting to her chemical roots and channelling that wisdom into how you can transform yourself from the inside out: through your gut. She is notorious for 'contaging' people with her passion for making delicious, healthy produce.. that is also alive! Looking forward to cooking up some magic together! 🧪💃
Not at all. This workshop is designed for complete beginners as well as curious home brewers looking to deepen their knowledge. We'll guide you through every step, making fermentation approachable, creative, and fun.
You'll leave with your own kombucha SCOBY (mother culture), a fermentation jar containing your seasonal strawberry wild ferment, recipes for future brewing adventures, and the confidence to continue fermenting at home.
Together we'll create two styles of fermented drinks: a cultured kombucha and a naturally wild-fermented seasonal strawberry soda. You'll also enjoy tasting a variety of fermented beverages and learn techniques for flavourful second ferments.
