I’m an Egyptian jeweller based in Lisbon, with over a decade of experience creating contemporary jewellery that blends craftsmanship, storytelling, and artistic expression. My journey began with a deep fascination for the symbolism, beauty, and timeless elegance of Ancient Egyptian art—a passion that continues to shape my work today. I founded Bastet Jewellery as a way to honour this heritage while reimagining it through a modern lens. Each piece I create is inspired by the rich mythology, sacred symbols, and intricate artistry of Ancient Egypt, transformed into wearable works of art that carry both meaning and individuality. Beyond my jewellery practice, I co-founded an art events collective dedicated to bringing people together through creativity. Through workshops across a variety of disciplines, we create welcoming spaces where travellers and locals alike can explore new skills, connect with others, and experience the joy of making something with their own hands. Teaching is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. I love sharing the techniques, stories, and creative process behind jewellery making, and guiding others as they discover their own artistic voice. Whether you’re joining a workshop for the first time or already have experience creating, my goal is to make each session inspiring, hands-on, and filled with the simple pleasure of crafting something truly unique.
No experience is necessary. This workshop is designed for beginners as well as those with some creative experience who want to explore metal texturing techniques in a relaxed and supportive environment.
All materials and tools will be provided, including brass and copper metal blanks, hammers, texturing tools, and basic jewellery-making equipment. You’ll have everything you need to create your piece during the workshop.
You’ll learn a variety of hammering and texturing techniques used to create unique surface patterns on metal. You’ll also be guided through shaping, refining, and finishing your design into a wearable jewellery piece.
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes, as you’ll be working with metal tools and equipment. No special materials are required—just bring your creativity and enthusiasm.
You’ll take home your own handcrafted piece of textured brass or copper jewellery, such as a pendant, pair of earrings, cuff, or small adornment. Each piece will be completely unique, reflecting your personal design choices and the textures you create by hand.
