Our Story
Porto Alchemy was born from the friendship and shared passion of three friends who dreamed of creating a place where people could experience the true soul of Porto.
Bringing together an artist’s eye, a deep appreciation for Portuguese culture, and a love for hospitality, we created Porto Alchemy as more than just a place to stay or visit. We wanted to create a space where the beauty of traditional Portuguese azulejos, the warmth of Port wine, and the spirit of local life come together in an authentic and welcoming experience.
Today, the three of us are still at the heart of Porto Alchemy, running the place together and welcoming guests as friends. For us, it’s about sharing the Porto we love—not simply as a destination, but as a feeling, a story, and a collection of moments to remember.
We believe the best travel experiences happen when you slow down, connect with a place, and feel at home. That’s what Porto Alchemy is all about: meaningful encounters, local character, and a little bit of magic in every stay.

Yes! Children from 6 years old are welcome to join. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The workshop is beginner-friendly and designed to be enjoyable for families.
You’ll take home your own handmade watercolor postcard, painted and personalized by you. It’s a unique souvenir inspired by Porto that you can keep as a memory or give to someone special.
Not at all. The workshop is suitable for complete beginners. Your friendly instructor will introduce you to basic watercolor techniques and provide simple, step-by-step guidance throughout the experience.
Yes. A small glass of traditional Port wine is included during or after the painting session. Guests must be of legal drinking age to consume alcohol. A non-alcoholic alternative is available.
Please bring your booking confirmation, comfortable clothing suitable for a creative activity, and a phone or camera if you’d like to take photos. All painting materials are provided, so you only need to bring your creativity and enthusiasm.
