Embroidery workshop in Lisbon at Lisboa Paper Company for anyone who wants to celebrate the 25th of April through the act of making something by hand. Led by Telma Pais de Faria of Herbário do Colibri, this two-hour session teaches you the three essential embroidery stitches needed to create your own hand-embroidered carnation badge, a cravo bordado that becomes your personal freedom badge to keep, wear or give. No prior experience needed and all materials are included.
The session focuses on three foundational stitches: backstitch, lazy daisy stitch and chain stitch, each one taught in the context of the carnation design you are building as you go. Telma guides you through every step in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere at Lisboa Paper Company, a creative space in the heart of Lisbon dedicated to local artists and independent Portuguese brands. By the end of the two hours you will have completed your badge and understood three embroidery stitches you can take into any future project.
