Textured painting workshop in Lisbon at Atelier da Home.Lier in Alcântara for anyone who wants to spend 2.5 hours making something genuinely beautiful with their hands, guided by abstract artist Rita Fernandes. In a single session you create two textured canvases to take home, learning the materials and techniques behind textured painting in a relaxed, immersive and beginner-friendly environment. No prior painting or artistic experience needed and children from age 10 are welcome.
The session moves through two distinct paintings with Rita guiding every step. You begin with an introduction to the materials and techniques used in textured painting before starting your first canvas, following Rita’s instructions and learning how texture and paint work together to create something that feels tactile, layered and genuinely alive on the surface. Once the first painting is complete you move into the second, applying what you have learned with growing confidence and your own creative instincts beginning to take over. Rita’s background in marketing means she has a particular gift for making complex creative processes feel simple, clear and immediately achievable.

I am Rita Fernandes, an abstract artist passionate about textured art as a language of expression. My background in marketing taught me clarity, storytelling and how to communicate complex ideas in simple and engaging ways, and I bring all of that into my workshops. My goal is to transform what can feel like an intimidating creative process into something immediately accessible, enjoyable and genuinely yours.
Sessions run for approximately 2.5 hours at Atelier da Home.Lier in Alcântara, Lisbon. Open to participants from age 10 upward. No prior painting experience needed.
