Family ceramics workshop in Porto at Terra Boa Atelier for parents and children aged 6 and over who want to spend two creative hours making something they will use together every morning. Led by Joana Nogueira, visual artist and founder of Terra Boa Atelier under her ceramic identity Não Sou Rita, this special parent and child session invites families to hand-build and paint their own breakfast cups, one for the coffee drinker and one for the hot chocolate lover, though which is which may not be entirely predictable. Priced per pair of one adult and one child. Minimum four and maximum ten participants. All materials, kiln firing and glazing included.
The session moves through the full ceramic process in a relaxed and playful family atmosphere. Each participant builds their own cup from scratch using hand modelling techniques before moving into decoration and painting with engobes, with Joana providing close guidance and creative support throughout. The pieces are stored at the atelier for drying, firing and glazing and ready for collection from one month after the workshop. Participants are notified when their pieces are ready and have up to three months to collect. Children must register alongside an adult.

I am Joana Nogueira, a multidisciplinary visual artist and educator based in Porto since 2012. I work between ceramics and animation cinema, building worlds populated by hybrid characters that cross imagination, humour and personal memory. My ceramic project operates under the identity Não Sou Rita, where play, irony and creative freedom are central. I founded Terra Boa Atelier in Porto in 2020, where I develop my own work and teach ceramics. My work is present in shops and exhibition spaces across Portugal, Europe and the USA.
