As the founders of Flores Daqui, a 2,5 acres sustainable floral farm launched in Colares in 2021, Sébastien Frère and Guillaume Baschet-Sueur have dedicated themselves to creating a space of tranquility and natural beauty. Our farm is more than a passion, it is a living project rooted in the landscape of Sintra Serra. We bring years of hands-on experience to our daily work with the land and are thrilled to welcome you to our little slice of Sintra. Our expertises range from: permaculture, organic and sustainable production, edible flowers, landscape architecture, floral design, ecology, eduaction, biodiversity, gardening and garden therapy. Flores Daqui was awarded the "Made in Sintra" label in July 2025, recognizing the authenticity, quality, innovation, and contribution to the local identity and economy of its products: flowers and floral arrangements. This seal values products that represent the best of the Sintra municipality. Our previous project, at the Grand Daubeuf estate in Normandy, where Sébastien was Head Gardener and Guillaume Landscape Designer, received four awards: - Villandry Prize in 2014; - Joint First Prize, National Vegetable Ornamental Garden Competition 2019, awarded by the French National Horticultural Society; - Vegetable Ornamental Garden Prize 2019, awarded by the Normandy Parks and Gardens Association; - 'Remarkable Garden' label, to be awarded in 2025 by the French Ministry of Culture.
No prior experience in floristry is needed. This workshop is designed for beginners and enthusiasts alike.
Our farm is located in a natural, rustic setting. The ground can be uneven, so we recommend comfortable footwear. We embrace the maritime climate of Sintra. Weather might be windy or foggy, bring a sweater.
Please note that because the farm is set on a natural hillside, the terrain may be challenging for those with limited mobility.
Kids are welcome, each of them being accompanied by one parent. They will remain under supervision and responsability of their parents during the whole time, harvest in the flower fields and composition in the workshop. Please be aware that the property is large, steep and surrounded by waterstreams.
