This workshop will introduce its participants to the wonderful world of natural cosmetics, specifically related to hair care 🪮

We will discuss what ingredients are beneficial to each kind of hair (oily, dry and normal), and how to produce solid shampoos and hair conditioners, and a hydrating and protective serum for all kinds of hair. Each participant will produce their own cosmetics from scratch. A hair care manual will be shared at the end of the activity, so everyone can produce with confidence and creativity their own natural hair care cosmetics, for very different types of hair.

What will happen in this workshop:

  • Hair types characteristics
  • Natural cosmetics advantages to the human body and nature
  • Hygiene and safety
  • Production of personalized hair cosmetics for each participant (1 solid shampoo, 1 solid conditioner, 1 hair serum)
Note: 16 years old and above.

Teacher: Sabina Baptista – Back in 2019, I learned how to produce my first handmade soap with the founder of BARS cosmetics. And ever since, I’ve been very interested in the natural cosmetics universe. I had wanted for a long time to enhance my body care routine with healthier alternatives and to get rid of plastic packaging and synthetic ingredients, which can be found in most conventional personal hygiene products. I participated in some workshops facilitated by Mirística and BioVó, but most of my creation process is self-taught and based on personal interest and curiosity. I’m a Sociology undergraduate, and a master in Development Studies, specialized in Sustainable Development, and some of my personal goals have a close relation to waste reduction, conscious consumerism, gathering knowledge and tools to be self-sufficient, and reusing/transforming matter with potential to bring value into this world – like turning food waste into compost, for example. It’s a relief for me to know I’m using and producing compostable cosmetics made with organic ingredients that nurture my body and the environment, and I’m looking forward to share the knowledge I’ve gathered so far with whoever is interested in learning and sharing ideas.
