The journey from Marina de Lagos to Benagil cave takes approximately 30 minutes each way, covering around 20 kilometres of some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in Portugal. The route passes through the caves and grottoes of Carvoeiro before reaching the iconic Algar de Benagil, whose cathedral-like interior and natural skylight can only be seen from inside the cave itself. A morning departure is recommended for guests who are sensitive to movement, as the return journey can be less comfortable on north-windy afternoons. Please note it is not possible to disembark or stop for a swim during this trip.
