VIVALab Porto is a space for creativity, experimentation and innovation, where ideas take shape through making.
Inspired by Maker culture and the principles of Fab Labs, VIVALab brings together technology, digital fabrication, sustainability and creativity to offer hands-on, collaborative experiences that are anything but ordinary.
In our workshops and team-building activities, we challenge participants to experiment, create, build and solve problems together. From plastic recycling to digital fabrication, from electronics to biomaterials, each activity is designed to stimulate curiosity, collaboration and the ability to transform ideas into tangible solutions.
More than simply learning a technique, we aim to create moments of discovery and sharing, where everyone can participate, regardless of their previous experience.
At VIVALab, we believe that learning by doing, experimenting without fear of making mistakes, and creating together are some of the best ways to bring people closer, develop new skills and generate new ideas.
No experience is necessary! This workshop is suitable for beginners and anyone curious about textile crafts. You’ll learn the basics of circular loom weaving with guidance throughout the session.
You’ll discover how to use a circular loom to create woven pieces, experiment with different yarns, colours, and textures, and develop your own designs in a relaxed and creative environment.
The €25 option includes the workshop and one medium-sized circular loom. The €35 option includes everything in the standard option, plus a kit containing five looms, allowing you to continue exploring weaving at home. Check the add on section to purchase the additional kit.
Both options include the two-hour workshop, the materials needed for the activity, guidance from the instructor, and a medium-sized circular loom. You’ll also take home the piece you create. You can choose between the €25 option without a kit or the €35 option with a kit of five looms.
Absolutely! Every participant can take home their finished woven creation. If you choose the kit option, you’ll also have five looms to continue experimenting with different yarns, colours, and patterns after the workshop.
