These workshops are designed for everybody, from the beginner to the professional artist looking for a different way to process ideas and learn new techniques.
Participants are invited to learn an experimentally developed wood burning technique that creates a hazy, nuanced visual effect using the symbiosis of flame and organic surface with the help of candles and matches. The poetic contradiction between fire and wood suggests a memory of landscape, and you will be invited to explore natural and self-empowering expression.
Expanding upon techniques, you will also learn to use a pyrograph – a wood burning tool that allows to ‘draw’ onto wooden surfaces. Various textures and patterns can be created – all possibilities will be shown by the artist.
Fire is the element to boost your creativity, the techniques shown by artist are unique yet simple and effective. The artist will help with composition and all creative ideas for you to make a beautiful finished artwork.
