I’m Lurdes Andrade, a Portuguese artist, textile designer and macramé trainer, with roots in the Alentejo. After almost 30 years in management at a multinational company, I decided in 2020 to follow my creative path and dedicate myself to art and handmade creations. Inspired by nature, travel and the beauty of traditional craftsmanship, I create unique pieces and share my passion for macramé through hands-on workshops. For me, macramé is more than knots and threads. It is a creative experience that invites you to slow down, learn something new, connect with your creativity and enjoy the satisfaction of making something with your own hands. My workshops are relaxed, welcoming and suitable for beginners, with one simple goal: to create, connect and leave with something you can be proud of. Every knot tells a story.

No. The workshop is designed for beginners, and you’ll receive clear, step-by-step demonstrations and personalised guidance throughout the experience.
Of course! I will teach your child to do something more basic. Children are welcomed from 6 years old and above as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
All materials needed for your project are included, along with step-by-step instruction, personalised guidance, a support guide for practising at home and a small surprise from Lurdes Gallery.
All the materials needed for the macramé project are provided. Just bring comfortable clothing and willingness to learn.
You’ll take home your own unique handmade macramé creation, made by you during the workshop. You’ll also receive a guide to help you continue practising the techniques at home.
The workshop takes place at your location! It can be either in the region of Faro, Alcantarilha, Albufeira or Porsches. For locations further away in the Algarve, an additional of 50€ will be charged.
