Welcome to Mariana Sampaio Studio, a creative space in the heart of Caldas, where beauty, individuality, and thoughtful design come together.
Founded by Mariana Sampaio, the studio is built around a simple belief: every person has their own unique style, and the best work is created when that individuality is celebrated. With a personal and attentive approach, Mariana creates an experience that feels relaxed, welcoming, and entirely centred around you.
At Mariana Sampaio Studio, it’s not just about the final result — it’s about taking a moment for yourself, feeling confident, and leaving the studio feeling like the best version of you.
Based in Caldas da Rainha, the studio is a space where creativity meets care, with a commitment to quality, detail, and making every client feel truly at home.
No, unfortunately the tile has to be fired into the ceramic kiln, this process takes up to 24h. You can pick up your tile in the net available day or it can be shipped to your address at an extra cost.
No, tiles got to a very high temperature to be finish, up to 1020º C or 1868ºF for around 8h.
Absolutely. All our workshops are for beginners or people that had no experience on ceramica, drawing or tile painting. All the materials and designs will be provided for you.
The best glue to apply tiles either on the wall or other surface is silicone. But you may find other types of glues that suit these materials.
At the end of this workshop you are going to get a tile hand painted by you. It will be expected to see all the natural features that came with something that is hand made, you will see every brush strokes, every shades, every details, finger marks and little marks- That is common and natural to be present, finding the beauty in the imperfection and be kind with yourself. Never the less, working in ceramics and on tiles is a unpredictable working experience, there are a lot of uncontrollable parts withing the process of start to finish piece, some don't depend on you or the teacher. The kiln is the "last painter", that means that occasionally things may get wrong with the shape, color, glaze, etc. But that is part the entire experience on working with a natural element as clay. We do not take responsibility for any problems with your piece in the kiln, no refunds do over. Although this is very rare to happen, many participants enjoy more the experience than the final product, but they do walk away surprised with the final result and the experience of the making.
