Candle making workshop in Valadares at Cer’Arte for anyone who wants to spend a relaxed and creative 2.5 hours learning to make their own natural wax candles from scratch. Set in the historic Cerâmica de Valadares space in Vila Nova de Gaia, this session takes you into the world of natural waxes and essential oils, teaching you how to create candles that do more than decorate: they transform the atmosphere of your home through scent. You choose your own fragrances, learn to pour with the patience the process requires and leave with two personalised candles in glass jars. All materials included and a coffee break with tea, coffee and snacks prepared for you during the session.
The session covers everything you need to understand before making a candle you will actually want to burn: the different types of wax and how each one behaves, the role of colourants and how to use them, how to work with essential oils and fragrance combinations, and the safety principles behind clean and even burning. The pouring itself is a deliberately unhurried process, giving you the time to enjoy the ritual rather than rush through it. The coffee break mid-session creates a natural pause for sharing inspirations and celebrating the creative moment together before the candles finish setting.

Born in December 2024, we started with ceramics and expanded organically to embrace textiles, wood, painting and all forms of expression where the human hand is the primary tool. We believe art should not be experienced in isolation and Cer’Arte exists as a space for creativity, encounters and the meeting of ancestral technique with contemporary vision.
