Hi, I'm Ursula, a ceramic artist and the founder of Ursula Cerâmica. I believe that the objects we use every day should carry meaning, character, and a human touch. This belief inspired me to work with clay, transforming simple raw materials into unique handmade pieces crafted with care, patience, and attention to detail. My work combines functionality and aesthetics, creating ceramics designed to be both beautiful and practical. Each piece is individually shaped and finished by hand, making every creation one of a kind. Through Ursula Cerâmica, I aim to celebrate the beauty of imperfection, the authenticity of craftsmanship, and the joy of surrounding ourselves with objects that tell a story and become part of everyday life. Thank you for being part of this journey.
Combine art and wine in one unforgettable experience - Learn from passionate local experts - Create personalized ceramic pieces to keep or gift - Taste authentic Portuguese wines in a guided setting - Enjoy a relaxing, culturally rich activity in Lisbon
Not at all! This workshop was designed for absolute beginners as well as curious minds who just want to explore clay. You don’t need to worry about skills, techniques, or “being artistic.” The hand-building process is intuitive and relaxing — we guide you step by step so you feel confident from the very start. If you’ve never touched clay before, this is the perfect place to begin. And if you already have some experience, you’ll still enjoy learning new tips and approaches in a creative, supportive space.
You’ll learn the essential hand-building techniques such as pinching, coiling, and slab work — the same timeless methods used in pottery for thousands of years. The beauty of this workshop is that you create at your own pace: you might craft a mug, a bowl, or even a small decorative piece, depending on your personal vision. We encourage experimentation, so every piece is unique. Along the way, you’ll discover how clay behaves, how to shape and refine your forms, and how to bring your ideas to life with your own hands.
Not immediately. Clay needs time to dry and be fired in the kiln to become durable. This process usually takes around 3–4 weeks. Once your piece is ready, you can pick it up at the studio or we can ship it to you worldwide for an additional cost. We’ll keep you updated when your creation is finished. It’s worth the wait: you’ll end up with a strong, unique piece that you made entirely by hand, ready to use or display.
