Not at all! This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as those who have already experimented with ceramics. Your instructor will guide you through each stage of the process, helping you understand how to handle the clay at your own pace.
These are three traditional ways of shaping clay by hand. Pinching involves pressing and shaping the clay with your fingers; coiling uses rolled strands of clay built up to form a structure; and slab building involves joining flat pieces of clay to create different forms. You'll have the opportunity to explore these techniques and discover which ones work best for your creation.
You can create your own ceramic object using the techniques introduced during the session. Depending on your design, you can shape a vessel or decorative piece, add handles or other elements, and personalise it with colourful engobes. Your instructor will help you develop an idea that works well with the material and the time available.
Yes! The minimum age is 8 years old. Pottery can be a wonderful way for children to explore their creativity, practise coordination and develop concentration through hands-on learning. The instructor will provide guidance throughout the activity.
