Not at all! This experience is suitable for beginners. An experienced skipper will guide you throughout the journey, and you’ll have the opportunity to learn about sailing and try some manoeuvres.
Wear comfortable clothing suitable for the weather and shoes with non-marking soles. As it can be cooler on the water, bringing an extra layer is a good idea. Check with BBDouro for any specific recommendations before your experience.
The experience includes a 2.5-hour sailing trip, an experienced skipper, safety equipment and participant insurance. You’ll also have the opportunity to get involved in sailing, depending on the conditions.
You won’t take home a physical souvenir, but you’ll leave with new sailing knowledge, the experience of being at the helm, and memorable views of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia from the water!
The experience lasts approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes and takes place aboard a sailing boat with a maximum of five participants. It departs from Douro Marina in Vila Nova de Gaia. No previous sailing experience is required.
The exact timing will be confirmed depending on the tide, weather conditions and other weather related factors.
