Gift Card Terms

1. Validity

Gift Cards purchased through the Hands On platform are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. The expiry date is clearly indicated on the Gift Card provided to the customer.

2. Use of Gift Cards

Gift Cards represent a credit that can be used towards the purchase of workshops available on the Hands On platform.

Where a Gift Card is purchased in connection with a particular workshop, the customer is purchasing credit towards that workshop. However, the Gift Card does not guarantee the future availability of that specific workshop, teacher, location, date or time.

The credit may be used towards the workshop associated with the Gift Card or, if that workshop is no longer available or suitable at the time of redemption, towards any other workshop available on the Hands On platform, subject to availability and the applicable terms of the selected workshop.

3. Workshop Availability

Reservations made using Gift Cards are always subject to the availability and specific terms applicable to the selected workshop at the time of booking.

Hands On is not responsible for changes to workshop availability after a Gift Card has been purchased. If the workshop associated with a Gift Card is no longer available, the Gift Card credit may be used towards another workshop available on the Hands On platform.

Where no reasonably suitable alternative is available and the Gift Card credit cannot reasonably be applied to any available workshop on the Hands On platform, Hands On may, at its discretion, authorise an exceptional refund.

4. Price Differences and Remaining Balance

If the price of the selected workshop exceeds the available Gift Card balance, the customer may use the Gift Card and pay the remaining amount.

If the price of the selected workshop is lower than the available Gift Card balance, the remaining amount will remain available as credit for future purchases.

Workshop prices may change after a Gift Card has been purchased. Hands On cannot guarantee the future price of any workshop. If the price of the selected workshop increases, the customer must pay any difference between the available Gift Card balance and the price of the workshop at the time of booking.

5. Multiple Uses

A Gift Card may be used across multiple purchases until its available balance reaches zero. Any unused balance remains available until the Gift Card expires.

6. Multiple Gift Cards

Multiple Gift Cards may be used towards the same purchase, subject to the applicable payment and checkout conditions.

7. Use on Behalf of Others

Gift Cards may be used to purchase a workshop for the Gift Card holder or for another person. A Gift Card may also be given as a gift to another person.

Gift Cards may not be sold, resold or commercially transferred to third parties.

8. Non-Refundability and Cash Redemption

Except as expressly provided in Section 11, Gift Cards are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged, redeemed or converted for cash or any other monetary equivalent.

No cash refund will be provided for any unused balance.

9. Expiry of Remaining Balance

Any unused balance remaining on a Gift Card at the time of expiry becomes unavailable for use.

10. Gift Card Extension

A Gift Card may be eligible for one validity extension, provided that the extension is requested from 30 days before the original expiry date until no later than 6 months after the expiry date.

The extension is subject to a fee equal to 20% of the remaining Gift Card balance at the time the extension is requested. Upon payment of the extension fee, the remaining balance is retained and the Gift Card validity is extended for an additional 12 months.

Each Gift Card may be extended only once. Once the extension has been used, no further extension will be available.

11. Cancellation by the Customer

A refund of the applicable amount via the original method of payment is possible if the customer cancels an unused Gift Card within 24 hours of receiving the Order Confirmation.

Once a Gift Card has been used, in whole or in part, no refund will be provided for the amount already redeemed. Any remaining unused balance will continue to be available for use in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

After the 24-hour cancellation period has elapsed, Gift Cards are non-refundable, except in exceptional and critical circumstances where the Gift Card credit cannot reasonably be applied to any available workshop on the Hands On platform. In such cases, Hands On may, at its discretion, authorise an exceptional refund.

12. Cancellation by the Teacher or Hands On

If a reservation paid for using a Gift Card is cancelled by the Teacher or by Hands On, the amount used from the Gift Card will be returned to the Gift Card balance.

The original Gift Card expiry date will remain unchanged, and the cancellation will not automatically extend the Gift Card validity.

13. No-Show

Failure to attend a booked workshop without cancelling or rescheduling within the applicable cancellation period may result in the amount used from the Gift Card being forfeited, in accordance with the cancellation and no-show policy applicable to the workshop.

14. Fraudulent or Unauthorised Gift Cards

If Hands On has reasonable grounds to believe that a Gift Card was obtained, purchased or used fraudulently, unlawfully or through unauthorised means, or that the transaction used to purchase the Gift Card has been reversed, charged back or otherwise identified as fraudulent or unauthorised, Hands On reserves the right to suspend or invalidate the Gift Card and/or the relevant account and to take any appropriate action.

15. Loss, Theft and Unauthorised Use

Gift Card holders are responsible for keeping their Gift Card details and redemption code secure.

Hands On is not responsible for Gift Cards that are lost, stolen, disclosed to third parties or used without the holder’s authorisation.

16. Changes to Workshop Terms

The use of a Gift Card is subject to the terms and conditions applicable to the selected workshop, including its availability, cancellation, rescheduling, no-show and other applicable policies.

17. Sale Days

Gift Cards cannot be used to pay for workshops or Services during Hands On promotional or "Sale Days", where Hands On has expressly stated that Gift Card redemption is excluded from the applicable promotion.

18. Explicitly Prohibited Uses

Gift Cards cannot be used to:

• purchase additional Hands On Gift Cards;
• pay for Services directly at a Teacher's own venue or through a Teacher's own website; or
• circumvent any applicable Hands On fees, restrictions, promotional conditions or other Platform terms.
