Fire is an element of transformation. Arta will introduce you to this playful and
seductive element that is a core principle in her artistic practice.

These workshops are designed for everybody, from the beginner to the professional
artist looking for a different way to process ideas and learn new techniques.

Participants are invited to learn an experimentally developed wood burning
technique that creates a hazy, nuanced visual effect using the symbiosis of flame
and organic surface with the help of candles and matches. The poetic contradiction
between fire and wood suggests a memory of landscape, and you will be invited to
explore natural and self-empowering expression.

Expanding upon techniques, you will also learn to use a pyrograph – a wood burning
tool that allows to ‘draw’ onto wooden surfaces. Various textures and patterns can be
created – all possibilities will be shown by the artist.
