The calmest skies. The pilot you can trust most. Hugo grew up in Portugal flying everything that flies. He spent fourteen years in the Portuguese Air Force at the controls of an F-16. Today, he is an Airbus A320 Captain with TAP Air Portugal and, on his days off, he flies tandem paragliding flights from his base in Sesimbra. With more than 2,000 tandem flights under his belt, he flies almost every day. He knows the winds at Bicas cliff, the thermals along the Arrábida, and the soft sand of Fonte da Telha as well as most people know their own street. It’s this familiarity that makes the flight feel effortless. Whether you’re flying for the first time, as a couple, with your family, with a brand, or with a production team — Hugo’s job is always the same: to give you an exceptionally beautiful flight, with calm and safety, and have you land with a smile.
FAQ's
Yes. Paragliding is completely weather-dependent. Hugo checks the forecast, wind, gusts, sea breeze, cloud base and conditions at the launch site before every flight. If the conditions are not suitable, he will postpone or cancel the flight. Safety always comes first, and a new date will be arranged when possible. The exact timing of the booking will be confirmed upon booking.
Flights are primarily operated along the Sesimbra and Arrábida coastline, with Praia das Bicas as the main launch site. Depending on wind direction and conditions, the flight may take place from the Serra da Arrábida or Fonte da Telha. The final location is always chosen by the pilot on the day to ensure the safest and best possible flight.
No, previous experience is not required. However, Acro Tandem is a more dynamic experience and is best suited to passengers who are comfortable with stronger sensations and want an adrenaline-filled flight. Closed sport shoes are required. Passengers should inform the pilot about any heart, back, neck, pregnancy or bone conditions before flying, as these may affect whether the flight is suitable.
The pilot has the final say on whether a flight goes ahead. If the weather, equipment, passenger condition or any other factor does not meet Hugo's safety standards, the flight will be postponed, cancelled or shortened. If the cancellation is made by the pilot, the flight will be rescheduled to the next suitable window or fully refunded.
Depending on the conditions and your comfort level, the pilot can perform controlled aerobatic manoeuvres such as dynamic turns, wingovers and spins.
