Acrylic painting workshop in Lisbon at AjudaLab, a creative studio inside Mercado da Ajuda, guided by artist, designer and certified trainer Sérgio Marques across three two-hour sessions totalling six hours of hands-on creative practice. Designed for beginners and curious creatives who want to explore painting in a relaxed and genuinely inspiring environment, this workshop covers the fundamentals of acrylic painting including composition, colour, texture, brush techniques and creative expression, with all materials included and every session encouraging experimentation, personal style and growing artistic confidence. No prior experience needed.

AjudaLab combines art, culture and community in an authentic Lisbon atmosphere, and Sérgio brings the depth of his training at the Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes alongside a practice that spans painting, drawing, cartography and contemporary visual language to every workshop he teaches. His work explores themes of territory, memory, identity and public space and has been shown in exhibitions and festivals across Portugal and internationally. The three-session format gives participants enough time to genuinely develop their approach across the course, building on each previous session with renewed energy and growing confidence.

I am Sérgio Marques, a Portuguese visual artist, designer and certified trainer based in Lisbon. I studied Painting at the Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes and hold a Master’s degree in Territory Management and Urbanism from the University of Lisbon. My artistic work combines traditional painting, drawing, cartography and contemporary visual language, and has been shown in exhibitions including the CHEAP Street Poster Art Festival, the XI Bienal de Pintura de Pequeno Formato da Moita and urban art projects in Lisbon and Cascais. I founded AjudaLab as a creative space dedicated to workshops, art and cultural experimentation in Lisbon, and I bring all of that into every session I teach.

Three sessions of two hours each, totalling six hours. Takes place at AjudaLab, Mercado da Ajuda, Lisbon. All materials included. No prior painting experience needed.

    Sérgio Marques

    Sérgio Marques is a Portuguese visual artist, designer, and certified trainer based in Lisbon. He studied Painting at the Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes, completing Level III Painting studies between 2019 and 2022, while also holding a Master’s degree in Territory Management and Urbanism from the University of Lisbon.

    His artistic work combines traditional painting, drawing, cartography, and contemporary visual language, often exploring themes connected to territory, memory, identity, and public space.

    Sérgio has participated in several exhibitions and artistic projects in Portugal and internationally, including the CHEAP Street Poster Art Festival, the XI Bienal de Pintura de Pequeno Formato da Moita, exhibitions at the Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes, and urban art projects in Cascais and Lisbon. His work has also received distinctions such as second prize and honorable mentions at “Um Galo na Torre” in Ajuda, Lisbon.

    Alongside his artistic practice, Sérgio works professionally in design and visual communication, having developed projects for cultural institutions, municipalities, hotels, and public organizations. He is also the creator of the independent brand Surf & Sardinhas and founder of AjudaLab, a creative space dedicated to workshops, art, and cultural experimentation in Lisbon.
