AFF skydiving course in Évora for anyone who wants to go beyond a tandem jump and actually learn to skydive independently. Skydive Portugal’s Accelerated Freefall programme is the fastest and most immersive route to becoming a licensed skydiver, taking you from complete beginner to solo skydiver across 7 to 8 progressive jumps over 4 to 7 days. Unlike a tandem skydive where an instructor controls everything, AFF puts you in charge from the very first jump, under close instructor supervision, developing the skills and confidence to fly solo.
The course begins with a full day of ground school covering 6 to 8 hours of intensive theory: equipment and gear handling, aircraft exit techniques, body position and stability in freefall, parachute deployment, canopy control, landing patterns and emergency procedures. From there you progress through the practical levels. Levels 1 to 3 have two instructors alongside you in freefall. Levels 4 to 7 reduce to one instructor as your independence grows. The final level requires you to demonstrate full control, at which point you are ready to jump solo. Each jump delivers approximately 60 seconds of freefall from 12,000 to 15,000 feet, followed by parachute descent and landing. After every jump you receive a detailed debrief with video analysis and advance only when you have met the required skills for that level.
