Most wellness experiences ask you to slow down and go inward. This one asks you to laugh out loud with a room full of strangers until something genuinely shifts. My Laughter Yoga session in Lisbon combines breathing exercises with group laughter dynamics in a way that moves naturally from induced laughter to real, uncontrollable laughter, releasing tension you did not even know you were holding and leaving you feeling lighter than you have in a while. No yoga mat required. No experience needed. Just a willingness to show up and let go.
The session moves through three distinct moments. We start standing, moving through laughter exercises to the rhythm of clapping and a group dance that gets the energy up and the self-consciousness down. From there we sit in a circle for the Laughter Meditation, where continuous eye contact and sustained laughter work together to free the mind from thought and tension. We finish lying down, laughing until the group naturally settles into stillness, followed by a guided meditation for deep relaxation. The session closes with a sharing circle and positive affirmations standing up, so you leave feeling genuinely different from when you walked in.
