Francisco, also known as dead_laranja, is an illustrator and a visual artist that, for the last 4 years, has focused his work on the tufting technique. He found in tapestry a unique way to express his work and a beautiful process that is often described as meditative, and the perfect escape from the digital era. The Tufting Workshops started back in 2021 in Barcelona, and since then, it has always been about sharing the joy of this technique with people from all over the world. The classes are now back to Lisbon, the artist's beloved hometown.

No experience is necessary. This workshop is designed for complete beginners, and Francisco will guide you through every step of the process, from using the tufting gun to the finishing techniques. You'll also have time to practise before starting your final piece.
Yes! You're welcome to bring your own design or choose one at the studio. For the best results, we recommend keeping your first design simple, with bold shapes and minimal fine details, as intricate patterns can be challenging for beginners.
You'll create your own 25 × 20 cm personalised mini rug using professional tufting techniques. After the workshop, your rug will be professionally finished and ready for collection or free shipping within 2–5 days. You'll also leave with the knowledge and resources to continue tufting independently.
The minimum age is 16 years old. Participants aged 12 and over are welcome when accompanied by an adult. Each ticket is valid for one participant, and pets are also welcome at the studio.
The workshop lasts approximately 3 hours. We recommend bringing: A simple design idea (optional) A hair tie if you have long hair Snacks if you'd like, although there's a bakery just around the corner You'll have access to all tufting equipment, materials, and refreshments breaks whenever you need, so you can work comfortably at your own pace.
