Painting classes in Cascais with Maria João Teixeira de Abreu, running every two weeks from 5pm to 7pm in a relaxed, welcoming and genuinely fun studio environment where every student develops the techniques they most identify with and enjoy. This is not a prescriptive course with a fixed outcome. It is a space of complete creative freedom, where oil painting, gouache, acrylics, watercolour and mixed-media approaches are all explored and each person follows their own artistic direction at their own pace. All materials are included for the first two classes.

The biweekly rhythm is deliberately chosen to give you enough time between sessions to absorb what you have learned, find new inspiration and return to the studio with renewed energy. Each two-hour session explores colour, texture and fundamental artistic techniques across multiple media, with Maria João adapting the guidance entirely to your individual level whether you have never held a paintbrush before or already have some painting experience. The sessions are filled with sharing, good energy and mutual support, reflecting a genuine belief that art should be a source of pleasure and relaxation rather than stress.

I am Maria João Teixeira de Abreu, 59 years old, born in Luanda and living in Estoril since the age of 7. After 25 years working in business management, I now dedicate myself to this project with the hope of bringing the community together, creating moments of joy and creativity and watching each person discover and develop their own artistic voice. The greatest pleasure is seeing that development happen.
