The Standup Comedy Introduction Workshop aims to provide basic notions of what Standup Comedy is, create and work on texts through learning types of writing, different writing techniques and developing the delivery of the text, with the final moment being the debut gala! 🎙
At the end of this Workshop, successful students will have a 5-minute text prepared together with the trainer and all the tools to gain autonomy to produce more text, as well as access to contacts to start doing Open Mics on other stages in the country!
What you will learn?
Theory
1. Pre-stage preparation and good practices of a comedian
2. Approach to production and different types of actors in a show
Types of Writing for the Standup
1. Basic Structure: the Oneliners, Setup + Punchline (Simple, Rule of 3 and Callbacks)
2. Storytelling: How to structure a story, How to turn a dramatic story into a humorous one, Simple notions of representation
3. Current affairs
4 . Premise Interview (Who, How, When, Where, Why): the Development of a Character, The 17 key questions
5. Mind Map, parallelisms, synonyms and antonyms
6. Use of strong words and expressions (Key Phrases)
Text Mentoring (Corrections and application of learned techniques)
Preparation for The Gala (Corrections and application of learned techniques)

This course starts on the 10th March and ends at 12th April. Mondays and Wednesdays Tuesday, 6 sessions of 3 hours, from 7pm to 10pm.

Standup trainer since 2020, he has already trained more than 100 students, many of whom are active and regularly present at
Lisbon Comedy Club.
