Watercolour workshop in Tavira with Ricardo Viegas, a two-hour creative and relaxing session guided by a local Algarve artist whose work is shaped by the landscape, ocean and light of the south of Portugal. Equally suited to complete beginners and participants with some previous experience, this workshop introduces the materials, colours and basic techniques of watercolour before moving into hands-on practice with step-by-step demonstrations, individual guidance throughout and the time and space to experiment freely and develop your own artistic expression. You leave with an original artwork you painted yourself.

Ricardo’s approach to art is rooted in emotion, atmosphere and connection, capturing feelings that are sometimes difficult to put into words, and that sensibility shapes the way he teaches. The session covers transparency effects, colour blending and texture techniques in a relaxed and inspiring atmosphere where the focus is on creative confidence rather than technical perfection. Growing up surrounded by the nature and calm energy of the Algarve has given Ricardo a particular understanding of how light, colour and surroundings work together, and this workshop is an expression of that understanding made accessible to everyone.

I am Ricardo Viegas, an artist from the Algarve. Growing up surrounded by nature and the calm energy of the south of Portugal shaped the way I see and create art. For me art is about emotion, atmosphere and connection, capturing feelings that are sometimes difficult to put into words. My work reflects my personal experiences, my surroundings and the beauty I find in everyday moments. I enjoy exploring textures, colours and different forms of expression to create pieces that feel honest and alive, and I bring that same approach to everything I teach.
