Not at all! This course is designed for beginners and anyone curious about exploring clay. You'll learn the fundamental techniques step by step, with time to practise and develop confidence throughout the four sessions.
You'll explore three essential hand-building methods: pinching, slab building and coil building. You'll also learn about glazing and the firing process, giving you an introduction to the different stages involved in creating finished ceramic pieces.
Clay needs time to dry properly before it can be fired. After the third session, your pieces will be left to dry and undergo their first kiln firing. The one-week break allows this essential stage to take place before you return to glaze your work and learn about the final firing.
The course price is €120 for four classes. The exact arrangements for clay, tools, glazes and kiln firings should be confirmed with the organiser before booking, as these inclusions have not been specified in the course details.
The course is offered on Sundays from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and Wednesdays from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Please confirm the available course dates as the dates are set from the beginning.
