Marisa Grilo is a multidisciplinary artist based in Portugal whose practice moves between ceramics, printmaking, and expressive illustration. Her work is deeply influenced by nature, tactile processes, and experimentation with materials. She is co-founder of doBARRO, a ceramics studio and shop in Porto dedicated to creative exploration and hands-on making. Marisa is also a member of the collective Squid Ink Works and has over five years of experience working directly with children and diverse audiences through artistic activities and workshops. Through her practice and teaching, she seeks to create accessible and playful spaces where people can connect with materials, creativity, and slow craft.
Not at all! The workshop is suitable for all levels, including complete beginners. Marisa Grilo and Felipe Rocio will guide you as you explore the materials and decorating techniques.
You’ll personalise pre-fired ceramic pieces, such as a cup and a small plate, creating your own designs on functional objects.
You’ll experiment with ceramic pencils, engobes, and glazes to explore different ways of adding colour, patterns, and details to your pieces.
Yes. The €60 price per person includes all workshop materials and the firing of your decorated ceramics.
Your ceramic pieces need to be fired after the workshop, so they won’t be ready to take home on the same day. They usually take around three weeks to be ready. Please arrange a collection time directly with Marisa.
