Hey, I'm Captain Pedro Casanova Faro, Portugal Background "It is not the great days of fishing or tournament wins that make me love it so much, it's the small details of each day that remind me of how lucky I am. It can be the most action-filled day of White Marlin or Tuna fishing or the longest, roughest, and most uncomfortable crossing I've ever made, either way, it's my job. And I'm happy to do it. Of course, it's not all record-breaking days and tournament wins. There are certainly frustrating days but then I realize that I am doing something that I love. When we raise a double or a triple, I forget about looking up and get excited about fishing all over again." Captain Pedro holds numerous tournament awards from All Millionaire Pacific Circuit Tournaments, the Los Cabos Billfish Tournament, and the South Africa WorldChampionship – to name a few. This winter 2026, we made 2 major upgrades, in our boat; now we have a new omni sonar, and a new electric iron Min Kota; both to help us to improve fishing. Numbers from the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament indicate that boats using omni sonar can experience catch rates 60% to 84% higher than those without this powerful technology. No one would argue with the premise that omnidirectional sonar is a great fish-catching tool. Techniques Eat, sleep, and breathe fishing? So do we. Only in it for the ocean view, tan lines and sweet pics? That's cool too. Whatever your reason, we will make your fish wishes come true... The only country in Europe, where you can get ''Granders'', the record of a lifetime, is at your hands...
Reef fishing is a popular offshore fishing activity where anglers fish around natural reefs and rocky underwater structures along the Algarve coast. These areas attract a wide variety of fish species, making reef fishing exciting for both beginners and experienced fishermen.
Depending on the season and sea conditions, you may catch species such as sea bream, snapper, mackerel, grouper, conger eel, and other reef-dwelling fish commonly found in Algarve waters.
No experience is necessary. Pedro Casanova and the crew provide guidance, equipment, and assistance throughout the trip, making reef fishing suitable for families, beginners, and experienced anglers alike.
Yes, all essential fishing equipment is included in the reef fishing experience, including rods, reels, bait, and tackle. Guests only need to bring comfortable clothing, sunscreen, and a camera to enjoy the day.
We recommend bringing sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, comfortable non-slip shoes, water, and a light jacket. If you are prone to seasickness, taking motion sickness tablets before departure is also advised.
At the end of the reef fishing experience, you can usually take home the fish you catch, within legal catch limits and according to local regulations. It’s a great way to enjoy a fresh seafood meal and remember your Algarve fishing adventure.
