Three local wines, a calm estate setting, a brief and genuine introduction to what is in the glass and where it comes from. Simple, honest and entirely enjoyable at your own pace between 12:00 and 17:00.
Rather than a traditional tasting format, this experience is deliberately light and flexible. You choose three wines from whites, rosés and reds (50ml each), settle into the quiet beauty of the estate surrounded by the Alentejo landscape, and let Nelson guide you through what makes the wines of Mértola genuinely distinct. There are no food pairings in this experience, a deliberate choice that allows for a pure and uninterrupted focus on the wines themselves. An optional guided estate tour is available at 14:00 for those who want to explore the property and learn more about the winemaking before sitting down to taste.

Is the experience suitable for all visitors?
Participants must be 18 or older to taste the wines, though younger guests are welcome to join the tour. The estate’s facilities are accessible, and we can accommodate groups, private sessions, and English- or Portuguese-language tours on request.

3 months agoWe stayed a couple of nights in our Motorhomes , Raymond and Nelson were polite and welcoming , kept in touch till we got there to assist us , We stayed Christmas eve and it’s so peaceful decided to stay longer, so tranquil and beautiful here we will defo come again ,thank you for having us ❤️❤️Your place is beautiful ❤️

a year agoA truly unassuming, fun, and unique experience—honestly, one of the top experiences we’ve had! They provided us with a peaceful and quiet camping spot for the evening, which was absolutely perfect for stargazing. The setting was serene and felt like a hidden gem. Nelson and Raymond were outstanding hosts, offering incredible detail about the history of the building, their vision for the space, and the wines from the region. Their knowledge and passion made the experience even more memorable. We highly recommend this as a must-do for anyone in the area. We’re excited to follow their progress and hope to return in the future!

4 months agoI dont have words for what an incredible experience this was. We were here in the off season, so we got very personalized one on one time with the owners. The guys who run this wine experience have something so very special. Raymond knows all about the local vineyards, the terroir, the vintage produced, he is an expert. I felt so cared for and catered to, its a "once in a lifetime " experience. The food is incredible, locally sourced, organic, seasonal. Nelson is a magician able to sourced unique flavors, untamperred with, unfusy and very top quality food to pair with their local wines. We will be back, we will bring all our family and loved ones to this gem, you will not regret all of your moments here. If I could give 6 stars I would

We had THE most incredible experience at HFR, from the wine to the food, the atmosphere and the hosts - Raymond and Nelson, the whole thing was truly an unforgettable experience. Second to none. So accommodating, warm, welcoming, cosy. They made us feel right at home and all we did was just taste wine and eat incredibly delicious food! Thank you so much. If you are in the area or passing by, do yourself a favour and please stop there. You won't be disappointed. Continue to provide such an awesome experience, we are rooting for you!

5 months agoWe were warmly welcomed and even got a short tour of the beautiful property. The campervan spots are great, spacious, quiet, and with a wonderful view of the surrounding landscape. In the evening, we drank a delicious bottle of wine from the estate and enjoyed it while watching the sunset. We had a truly lovely time here and would definitely come back!
