There is something deeply satisfying about making sushi with your own hands. In my sushi making workshop in Lisbon, I walk you through the full craft of Japanese sushi, from seasoning the rice the right way to shaping your first nigiri, rolling a tight maki, and folding a temaki cone that actually holds together. By the end of the session you will have made all three styles from scratch and understood why each one exists in Japanese culinary tradition.
We start with the basics of sushi rice, which is where most people are surprised to learn how much technique is involved before a single piece of fish is touched. From there we move through each style in sequence, with me guiding you through every step and explaining the cultural context behind what we are making. You will get a real sense of why sushi is considered an art form in Japan, not just a dish, and why the fundamentals matter more than rushing to the complicated stuff.

I have been teaching sushi in Lisbon for eight years. I teach the same fundamentals to everyone, beginners and food lovers alike, because getting the basics right is what makes everything else possible.
No prior cooking experience needed; if you enjoy good food and like working with your hands, you will do just fine.
